Dyna-Mic was born out of a challenge faced by musician Mitch Grainger in the mid-2010s: playing harmonica hands-free in the loud bars of Los Angeles. The need for a microphone that could deliver exceptional sound without sacrificing mobility ignited a journey that would ultimately redefine the harmonica playing experience.

Traditionally, harmonica players striving for great amplified tone had to master the 'art of cupping'—a technique that involves cupping their hands around both the harmonica and the microphone in an airtight fashion. This skill can take years to perfect.

Enter Dyna-Mic’s patented Gasket system. By eliminating the need for advanced cupping techniques, our innovation allows anyone, regardless of age or skill level, to pick up a Dyna-Mic and instantly unleash their sound.

In 2019, Mitch brought Dyna-Mic to life through a successful Kickstarter campaign, capturing the imagination of harmonica players everywhere. But that was just the beginning. Mitch soon partnered with AmpRx, an established music manufacturer renowned for their flagship product, the Brown Box. This collaboration merged Dyna-Mic’s innovative vision with AmpRx’s manufacturing expertise, paving the way for cutting-edge products like the Dyna-Mic Nighthawk.
